Description and history

Rocky Linux is an open source rebuild of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), building from the open source package sources in the CentOS Pagure.

Development overseen by the Rocky Enterprise Software Foundation (RESF), a Public Benefit Corporation (PBC) formed in Delaware (file number 4429978), backed by CIQ and several others.

rocky This user only exists in cloud installs, and no password is set by default (i.e. must be overridden via cloud-init userdata).
